Cyber Monday is insanely better than Black Friday for a number of reasons: You don’t need to stretch out before braving crowded shopping centers (not that you’re doing that this year), most retailers are offering the same or similar deals online these days, and after the long Thanksgiving weekend you have a better sense of what you actually should buy at a discount (instead of just impulse buying).
This specifically applies to home goods and kitchen accoutrement. After cooking Thanksgiving dinner, and finding ways to eat all the leftovers, you probably know better than ever what your kitchen is missing — maybe sturdier cast-iron cookware instead of cheap nonstick pans, maybe a Vitamix that can handle all manner of foodstuffs. And as you’ve been relaxing (or attempting to relax) in every corner of your home, you’ve become acutely aware of the furnishing, lighting and organizational deficiencies.
The Cyber Monday deals below, offering discounts up to 80% off, attempt to solve all of those problems, and feature brands from Staub to Dyson to Ooni (yes, those outdoor pizza ovens you’ve been hearing so much about).
Staub
This is the real deal, people: Up to 80% off, including on their signature Dutch ovens (or cocottes), like this French-made, four quart, matte black, enameled cast iron pot on sale down from $429 to just $99.99. Many Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals have been diluted over the years (less doorbusters than run-of-the-mill discounts), but Staub at least is keeping true to the spirit.
Bespoke Post
Know your house is missing something, but not sure what it is? Sign up for Bespoke Post’s expertly curated subscription boxes. When you use code CYBER2020, they’re offering 50% off your first box if you sign up, or 20% off any standalone box — of which we like the Buzzed bar kit with the Nick and Nora glasses (a holiday drinking essential) and the Parlor setup for showcasing your darker spirits. And just in case you weren’t aware, Bespoke Post also offers their most sought-after wares outside the subscription box format, and we recently put together a gift guide with them.
Brooklinen
Take 20% off sitewide at the DTC bedding brand. It’s not the biggest discount out there, but considering how much we love their sheets, towels and loungewear, it’s worth taking advantage of this rare deal.
Food52
They’re upping the ante for Black Friday, offering 20% off sitewide with code GOFORIT, and 30% off if you buy $400+ with code BIGDAY. Shop their own Five Two brand (from knives to cookware) or score discounts on favorites from other companies, like Smithey Cast Iron.
Made In Cookware
This is Made In’s only sitewide sale of the year, and when they say sitewide, they mean pretty much everything except the high-end copper. The DTC brand only recently introduced a line of tableware, but that’s included in the discount. So are all of their blue carbon steel pans, which you should pick up if you’ve hit a cooking rut.
Dyson
Futuristic cordless vacuums, air purifiers and desk lamps — all of those Dyson products you’ve thought about buying but potentially ruled out as a little too extravagant are now back within a reasonable range. But because everyone is looking for vacuums, air purifiers and desk lamps in our current WFH era, you’ll have to act fast.
Ooni Pizza Ovens
After testing out a couple outdoor Neapolitan pizza ovens this fall, we’re convinced Ooni can fill the void of charred, airy, wood-fired pies that has opened up as a result of the pandemic. Their entire range of gas, wood and multi-fuel pizza ovens is 20% off through December 2.
Sur La Table
If you want a one-size-fits-all kitchen sale, Sur La Table is it, offering discounts up to 55% off on everything from knives to coffee makers to sous vide cookers. For a standout deal, we particularly like the Vitamix E310 Explorian Blender that’s slashed from $450 to just $290.
Amazon Ring Home Security
If you’re in need of a more modern home-security system (or any system at all), pretty much every top-rated company is throwing a Cyber Monday deal. SimpliSafe, Abode, Arlo — they’ve all got impressive discounts. But Amazon’s Ring is quickly becoming the go-to option, both for the plug-and-play design and strong features, and they’re offering sales across the line of video doorbells, outdoor cameras and more.
Yamazaki
If you’re not quite ready to give up on the minimalist design that’s defined home aesthetics in the 21st century, Japanese brand Yamazaki will help you declutter, organize and bring a sense of calm to your (probably) messy home. Huckberry is currently offering discounts across its selection of their tables, shelves and storage options.
