Emergency response is more complicated than it was 40 years ago, when strapping young environmentalist Jimmy Carter first established FEMA.
Disasters are now more common. The population is larger. And we’re getting hit harder.
That’s why Texas-based engineering and design firm Reaction has produced the Exo Shelter, a low-cost, portable emergency solution. The stackable system comes in two parts (floor and outer shell), sleeps four comfortably and is light enough to be moved by hand. The shelter is also equipped with on-board sensors with the ability to lock the unit with a key card.
