Fully funded in less than 24 hours on Kickstarter, the Pause Pod is a “private pop-up space for relaxation.”
But let’s get one thing straight: it’s not a tent.
This traveling sanctuary weighs less than five pounds, pops up in under ten seconds and can be carried around in a small bag. It’s built from a light-blocking fabric. And “how you choose to use the Pause Pod is entirely up to you.”
But don’t use it as a tent.
Some add-ons include a star sky ceiling (much like you’d see if you were camping … in a tent … which you are definitely not) and a reading light, along with a tablet mount and a “Mini-Pause” (an ear muff/eye mask hybrid that is not like a tent for your senses).
Some suggested places to use the Pause Pod, according to the company’s Kickstarter: At work, at home, on a roof, at the airport or something they call “go explore” — an outdoor option that suggests … well, not what you’re thinking. Because it’s not a tent, and absolutely nowhere on the Pause Pod Kickstarter page is the word “tent” mentioned.
It also comes with a meditation app. Perhaps you can use it and think about a place that provides a quiet sanctuary under the stars, away from the digital world.
