This Is Nosulus Rift. It Does Exactly What You Think It Does.

First use case: farts, obviously. Cartman's farts.

For the millions of South Park fans who’ve been dreaming for years of smelling one of Eric Cartman’s patented combustible farts, we’ve got good news (but also: you need to consider rethinking your #goals).

Ubisoft has created a device that essentially does for your olfactory sense what Oculus Rift does for your vision.

Designed for the video game South Park: The Fractured But Whole, the Nosulus Rift is a “minimalist designed mask” that replicates the fallout produced by the gastrointestinal attacks used in the game.

“I’d just started playing the game when it came to my nose. I’d never felt anything so strong before,” a test user says in the Nosulus release video. “The fart stinks so real. Best immersive experience ever.”

While the rig seems like — and hopefully is — a marketing ploy, at least one Nosulus unit actually exists, because Ubisoft plans to showcase it at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany.

Should be a gas.
