On Sunday night, gymnast Simone Biles went where no other woman has gone before by successfully landing a twisting triple-double somersault at the end of the first pass of her floor routine.

Biles had attempted the move on Friday but needed to put both hands on the mat to keep from falling. In a previous competition about a month ago, she stepped out of bounds while attempting the maneuver. On Sunday,  she nailed it.

The move was the highlight of a spectacular day for Biles that also saw her become the first female gymnast to stick a double-dismount while getting off the balance beam.

Biles easily won the U.S. women’s gymnastics championships with a two-day total of 118.500 points. That mark put her five points clear of second-place finisher Sunisa Lee and almost seven points ahead of Grace McCallum in third.

Here’s the triple-double on the floor …

And the double-double dismount on the beam …

After becoming the first woman land double-double dismount as well as stick the triple-double in competition on the floor, Biles celebrated in style.

With the win, 22-year-old Biles is now tied for the most all-around titles for an American with six.

“I’m just happy that I landed it,” Biles said afterward of the triple-double. “After Night 1, my confidence got shot down, so I was really worried about it going into today. That’s all I could worry about.”
