From the Jon Gruden email scandal to the felony charges levied against ex-Raiders receiver Henry Ruggs, NFL fans in Las Vegas have had to endure a lot this season to support their local team.

And, according to Chicago-based sports business intelligence firm Team Marketing Report, they’ve been paying the highest prices in the league to attend games at Allegiant Stadium to do it.

According to Team Marketing Report’s Fan Cost Index for the NFL, the average price for a ticket to attend a Raiders game at Allegiant Stadium is the most expensive in pro football at $153.47, while the average game ticket in the league is $107.05.

To take a group of four to see the 5-2 Raiders play at Allegiant with the price of non-premium tickets, soft drinks, hot dogs, beers and parking spots being taken into account, it costs $778.56 (which is also the highest price in the NFL). The second-most expensive family-of-four cost is New England at $669.28. The average cost to take a family or group of four to an NFL game in 2021 is $568.18, a 2.8% increase from the 2020 season.

“The numbers we are seeing for the NFL this year are honestly pretty tame. Good news for fans, not good for folks looking to stir controversy,” said Team Marketing Report CEO and publisher Chris Hartweg, per The Athletic. “In terms of year-over-year FCI change, this year is the sixth smallest since 1991. And in tickets (2.5%) it is the fourth-smallest year-over-year gain over that time. What does that tell me? That teams believed rolling over ticket prices (and the deposits for 2020 tickets) ‘in these uncertain times’ was the wisest move. Unless you’re Super Bowl champs, like Tampa, or looking like you’re on the cusp, like Buffalo.”

The Arizona Cardinals, 7-1 on the season with MVP candidate Kyler Murray at quarterback, might be a candidate to raise prices next season. The Cardinals carry a Fan Cost Index of $462.52 despite their stellar record and talented roster. That’s the second-cheapest average price for a family of four after the Bengals, who are also somewhat of a value considering the team is 5-3.

Outside of the NFL, the costliest fan experience in baseball is going to see the Red Sox play at Fenway Park in Boston, according to Team Marketing Report’s 2021 Fan Cost Index for MLB. For a family of four to attend a game at Fenway, which is one of MLB’s smallest stadiums and can only hold approximately 38,000 fans, it costs an average of $376. The least-expensive team for a group outing for four is the Arizona Diamondbacks at $144.
