In a shocking deal on Tuesday evening, the New York Giants agreed to deal star wideout Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns in a blockbuster trade.
In exchange for the 26-year-old, the Giants will receive Cleveland’s first-round pick in 2019 (No. 17 overall), their second third-round pick this year, and safety Jabrill Peppers, the 25th overall pick in 2017.
Though it was rumored Beckham was on the block, the deal is still somewhat of a shock given that the Giants signed Beckham to a five-year, $95 million contract extension in August with $65 million in guarantees.
On the Browns, OBJ will catch passes alongside Jarvis Landry, his former college teammate at LSU. The killer receiving tandem will be plenty for second-year quarterback Baker Mayfield to work with.
After news of the trade broke, Cleveland’s odds to win the Super Bowl went from 25-1 to 14-1 at Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook. Not bad for a team that went 7-8-1 last year.

Since joining the Giants as the 12th overall pick in the 2014 draft, Beckham has made three Pro Bowls and been one of the top receivers in the NFL when healthy.
Still, it is quite a haul of assets for a rebuilding Giants team and makes the compensation the Pittsburgh Steelers received for dealing Antonio Brown to the Oakland Raiders, a third- and fifth-round pick, look even worse.
