Condé Nast has named Roger Lynch, former Pandora CEO and Dish Network exec, as the magazine publisher’s new CEO.

Lynch will take over on April 22, replacing former CEO Bob Sauerburg, who announced his departure last fall after 18 years at the company, Variety reported. As the brand’s first global CEO, Lynch will oversee the newly combined Condé Nast US and Condé Nast International as the company merges its domestic and overseas operations.

Condé Nast board members Jonathan and Steve Newhouse announced Lynch’s appointment today.

“After conducting a thorough search for an executive to run the combined Condé Nast U.S. and Condé Nast International, we believe Roger is the right person to lead Condé Nast during our new phase of global integration, growth and transformation,” said Jonathan, who has led Condé Nast International since 1990.

The appointment comes amid various economic headwinds the company, which publishes high-profile magazines like The New Yorker, Vanity Fair and GQ, has faced in recent years. In 2017, the brand’s U.S. operation reportedly lost $120 million, and announced it would sell three of its titles in August. Lynch’s appointment reflects the revised global strategy the company hopes will lead to a new era of growth.

“I have long admired the extraordinary, award-winning content produced by Condé Nast,” said Lynch in a statement. “I’m very excited to work alongside the talented, passionate and creative team at Condé Nast as we drive the next phase of the company’s growth.”
