Odds are good that you associate Tom Hanks with his work as an actor, director, writer or history buff. (Or, you know, some combination of the above.) But the last year has also revealed a slightly different side to Hanks — namely, that he’s a full-on auto enthusiast. This side of Hanks has come to the forefront in discussions of the then-pending sale of his car collection.

The sale of four of his vehicles took place via the auction house Bonhams. (This wasn’t the first time Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have sold a vehicle via Bonhams.) And with the sales completed and the auction finished, it begs the question — how did the sale end up going this time around?

Jerry Garrett at The New York Times has a report from the auction, and the short answer to that question is “very well.” The vehicles all sold for more than their Kelley Blue Book value, where applicable — evidently the “Tom Hanks used to drive this” factor can rocket the price up, which seems wholly understandable.

Hanks’s customized trailer, the centerpiece of the auction, sold for $235,000. A 2011 Ford F-450, necessary for the towing of the aforementioned trailer, sold for $84,000 — over double its Kelley Blue Book value, according to the Times.

The other two cars in the sale also exceeded the expected price. One was a 2015 Tesla Model S, in a P85 configuration — that sold for $67,000. And a 1980 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser ended up selling for $122,000. All told, it’s an impressive array of sales for an impressive array of vehicles.
