TikTok’s neighborhood divorce attorney Katherine Leonard recently dropped an insightful piece of advice on her 69,000 followers (all of whom are probably very nice) — revealing the top five professionals women should avoid marrying. Leonard, who posts videos under the username @jettiegirl28 on TikTok, has been in the divorce attorney biz for more than a decade and is the founder and managing partner of The Leonard Firm in Atlanta, Georgia, according to Insider, who reported on Leonard’s maritial claims.

“Over the course of my career, I’ve watched my most difficult cases and, shockingly, many of them involved men in these five professions,” she said in a video that has garnered over 1.5 million views.

So, the professionals Leonard believes ladies should steer clear of making husbands? In no particular order: police officers, firemen, men in the military, pilots and surgeons.

Yes, as Leonard point out, there are some “outliers,” but most men in these lines of work, she says, tend to be more “narcissistic” and “controlling.” And I mean … I can see it!

“They tend to be far more difficult in dealing with a divorce. They have kind of a ‘nuke the earth, you know, scorch the earth, how dare you challenge me’ kind of approach to litigation,” she said. “If you look at these professions, what do they all have in common? They’re gods in their profession, right?”

As Leonard notes, the people in these professions have to take on a lot of responsibility, and therefore, tend to walk around with an air of authority and command respect from most of the people around them, which doesn’t always translate well on the homefront.

“If you’re a policeman, you’re walking around with a gun. You’re walking around with authority. If you’re a surgeon, you’re walking around the hospital — everybody looks up to you, you’re in charge, everybody treats you with respect. And then you come home, and all of a sudden, somebody’s asking you to take out the trash. I think that that’s a difficult kind of transition to make,” Leonard added.

Viewers then begged Leonard to reveal the types of professionals men should avoid wifing up. Though, she just had one answer: stay-at-home moms.

“When you’re divorcing a stay-at-home mom, they’re paralyzed with fear, and rightfully so because their whole lives are about to change,” she said in another video, which has so far accumulated 3.4 million views. “There’s lots of things that they don’t know financially about what’s going on, so they tend to stick their head in the sand and stall.”

Of course, we all can run through the ex list and identify a few less-than-stellar characters who had careers in sectors Leonard doesn’t name above. Still, these types of profession might be something to keep in mind before you go put a ring on it.
