A new article in Variety attempts to piece together the tumultuous year that was in Hollywood. In the same year that countless cases of sexual abuse came to light and exposed the inner workings of the industry, movie theaters and studios alike panicked about weak box office numbers and the threat posed by Netflix. How the industry reacts to the massive shifts of 2017 will be the biggest question in Hollywood for next year and beyond.
