Although SpaceX has delayed the launch of its Falcon Heavy rocket, the rocket that was designed to one day bring SpaceX customers to deep space, 2017 was still a year of accomplishment and transition for Elon Musk and company, according to Wired. In fact, the Falcon Heavy is no longer the vessel in which Musk plans to deliver us to Mars. Instead, SpaceX is building a new rocket, which will bring people to the moon before the big Mars trip. 2017 was also a banner year for the relationship between SpaceX and the U.S. military, as SpaceX began work on a number of contracts, including ones with the Air Force and National Reconnaissance Office. In addition to the infusion of cash from the contracts, SpaceX also seeks certain deregulations and further financial investment from the government.
