The Public Hotel, located on Chrystie Street in the Lower East Side, is a new destinations for young socialites, according to Vanity Fair. Ian Schrager, who ran the famous ‘80s club Studio 54, is the Public’s creator. The multi-level basement, dubbed Public Arts, of Schrager’s hotel will host the SugarCube series, events hosted by pop singer Parson James that will launch on Valentine’s Day. The Public favors a stripped-down aesthetic, which Schrager believes caters to the tastes of the day more than the gaudy approach he took with Studio 54.
