The world was stunned when Steve Irwin died suddenly in 2006. Pierced in the heart by the barb of a stingray, the Crocodile Hunter was just 44 at the time of his death, leaving behind his wife, Terri, and their two young children, Bindi and Robert.
Nearly twelve years later, Irwin’s spectacular legacy lives on in his family, each of whom have channeled their shared enthusiasm for wildlife into different areas of conservation and storytelling. While Terri runs the Australia Zoo, originally established by the Irwin family in 1970, 19-year-old Bindi is an actress and dancer who shares her conservation work on Instagram.
