“You don’t have sourcing for everything you’ve got in here, so how much should I believe?”

Late-night host Stephen Colbert invited author Michael Wolff onto his show Monday night, questioning the “Fire and Fury” writer on why he won’t release recordings of interviews he’s done to prove that all of his bombshell claims are true — and asking what Wolff means when he says in the forward that he’s attempting to depict “the events I believe to be true” from inside the White House.

“What does that mean?” Colbert asked, noting that he felt “deeply conflicted” while reading because of a lack of transparency.

“It’s the Trump White House,” Wolff replied. “Everybody is telling you different stories. Let’s put it this way: everybody is lying in their own particular way because that’s what you do in the Trump White House. So I had to go and take whatever the event was, find as many people as I could, and then use my judgment.”
