Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will likely bestow York Cottage upon Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as her wedding gift to the couple, according to Cosmopolitan UK and Harper’s Bazaar. The Queen “has a habit of giving property,” royal biographer Duncan Larcombe said, ”so there’s every chance that Harry and Meghan might find themselves the proud owners of a nice property outside of London.”
Harper’s Bazaar did a deep dive on the massive “cottage,” which is situated on the sprawling, 19,000 acre grounds of Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England. In the family’s possession since 1862, the home was inherited by the Queen from her father, King George VI, in 1952. The Queen’s grandparents, King George V and Queen Mary, once called York Cottage home. Today, it reportedly houses estate offices.
