This weekend Star Wars: The Last Jedi will surpass $1 billion in its international gross, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This mammoth number alone is enough to celebrate, but it also marks another accomplishment: with its three recent Star Wars movies Disney has now made more than $4.06 billion, the price it paid to Lucasfilms in 2012 for the franchise, at the box office. Over the course of the last 11 years, chairman and CEO Bob Iger has brought Disney to new heights, purchasing Star Wars, Pixar, Marvel, and now 20th Century Fox. Heading into the weekend, The Last Jedi has already grossed $934.2 million internationally.
