One person is in custody after an explosion caused the authorities to evacuate one of New York City’s busiest transit hubs. The blast echoed through the passageway connecting the Times Square and Port Authority subway stations, the Police Department says. The suspect is currently in serious condition at Bellevue Hospital, and four injuries have been reported. The suspect had been wearing an explosive device. It appeared to have gone off prematurely.
