A new app called Tap aims to cut back on humanity’s plastic problem by mapping out free water refill stations, complete with walking directions.

Most people don’t know that they’re typically within close proximity of a water source, according to Fast Company, and settle for plastic bottles — that are generally not disposed of properly — instead. But technology is here to save the planet.

“So long as you carry your own bottle, you never have to buy a bottle of water ever again,” Tap’s founder and CEO, Samuel Ian Rosen, told the magazine. “I think people drink bottled water because they can’t find water.”

As of the app’s launch on Tuesday, Tap can direct its users to over 34,000 refill stations in 30 countries. Some of those literal taps include traditional water fountains and others are provided by local businesses like Sweetgreen, Lululemon, and Adidas.

“I just realized that all these places were already giving out free water and none of them had a map that connects all of it,” Rosen said.
