Tech company Neo has based its business around a novel concept: a real life, non-digital social network. According to Wired, Neo just had its inaugural weekend retreat, dubbed Reunion, which brought together people from all levels of tech: founders, mid-level engineers, and undergrads. The goal of the company for founder Ali Partovi is to bring together mentors and mentees, and to give himself first dibs at investing in any startups that come out of the social club. Neo claims inclusivity as another goal, as more than 40 percent of its members are women and 15 percent are black or latino, both numbers higher than average in the incredibly white and male tech world. Neo reached reality last weekend when 150 tech thinkers met in Arizona.
