Late-night comedian Jimmy Kimmel slammed President Trump on Tuesday night, calling him “a liar” and urging viewers not to believe the president when he says he meant to say ‘would’ instead of ‘wouldn’t’ during a key moment in which he failed to condemn Russia for meddling in the 2016 election, a fact supported by the U.S. intelligence community. President Trump walked back on his comments after receiving heated criticism from both his detractors and his allies, including several Republican members of Congress, and various personalities on Fox News.
“Who in that administration told him it would be good to announce he meant to say ‘would’ instead of ‘wouldn’t?’ I bet it was Melania, she hates him the most,” Kimmel said. “This is like if Bill Clinton came out and said, “No, I meant to say I did have sexual relations with that woman.”
