A scientific team might’ve just one-upped Watson and Crick. When the molecular structure of DNA molecules were first identified by James Watson and Francis Crick in 1953, it answered the age-old question of “who we are.” But it didn’t answer questions of how, say, our organs could each behave differently yet have the same coding sequence. For the first time ever, researchers from the Leiden Institute of Physics have provided evidence that a second layer of DNA information exists. Read the team’s full study here.
