We suggest you sit down and a take a couple of deep breaths before watching this Twitter video. It’s pretty intense.
As the Washington Post reports, the video reportedly shows a female sniper—a purported member of the Kurdish Women’s Defense Units (i.e. the YPG)—lining up for a shot in Raqqa, Syria, where she’s fighting ISIS. Then, seconds later, an ISIS sniper’s shot whizzes just inches past her head and hits a rock wall.
She then looks at the cameraman and literally laughs in the face of death.
According to the Post, who had the video translated, the sniper says, “I killed Daesh,” an Arabic acronym for ISIS. An off-camera voice says she just escaped death herself. She then laughs it off, and tells the cameraman to stop recording.
