My biggest gripe with online shopping has always been that you can’t feel the garments before you buy them. So an unwitting gent in search of some new summer shirts may come across a Faherty button-up for $150 and a lesser brand’s similarly bohemian option for $50. Both say they’re made of 100% cotton, so you’d guess the cheaper shirt would be the better bargain. But that guess would be wrong.
I own a couple Faherty shirts, an indigo-dyed button-up and a white henley, and they’re the softest, comfiest garments in my closet (I’ve been known to reach for the henley in lieu of my PJs). Not all types of cotton are created equal, neither are the processes through which that plant becomes clothing, and Faherty doesn’t skimp on either end.
Right now, you can experience the Cadillac of cotton for less as Backcountry is throwing a rare sale on a slew of Faherty threads. It’s a little difficult to suss out the best deals as many of the styles are sold out or only discounted in certain colors, so we’ve pulled our favorites out below that are available in most sizes, from your go-to shorts to reversible shirts that’ll transition from the boat to the bonfire.
