Would you dare to sleep in a glass pod, dangling off the side of a cliff in Peru? Now you can. The spectacular Skylodge Adventures Suites are glass lodges precariously situated on the side of a cliff in Peru’s Sacred Valley, reports CNN. The pods are accessible only after climbing 400 meters (about 1,300 feet) of the rock face or hiking a rugged trail that also features a zip-line network. But it’s worth: Once you are in the pod for the night, you are treated to panoramic views of the wild valley below, and perhaps even better, the Milky Way at night. According to Natalia Rodriguez, the SkyLodge manager, the motivation behind these dramatic lodges was to offer “a unique experience that that [reconnects guests] with nature or make them realize what really luxury can be.” The suites were designed by Natura Vive, a company who wants their guests to “embrace their inner adventurer” writes CNN. And don’t worry about getting down: once you are ready to leave your suite, you can zip-wire down to the ground below. The pods are 24-by-eight-feet and have four beds, a dining area, and a private bathroom. All beds have pillows and quilts. The pods themselves are crafted from aerospace aluminum and weather resistant polycarbonate — so Natura Vive promises they are secure and guests are safe. And they are shockingly cheap: only $400 for one night. That price includes private transportation to and from your lodge, equipment, guides — plus a gourmet dinner with bottle of wine, and breakfast overlooking the valley below.
