Disgraced comedian Louis C.K. has been slowly trying to make a comeback by showing up unannounced at the Comedy Cellar in the West Village. He did this again on Wednesday night, according to Page Six. While some guests walked out, Chris Rock stayed and supported him.
“Louis came on last during the 9:30 p.m. show,” a source told Page Six. “Like 10 people walked out. One yelled a slur, something like ‘F - - k you’ or something. He just ignored it. A few more people walked out midway through, [but] they may have been waiting for their check.”
But the source also told Page Six that Rock walked in when C.K. was on and left right after. He laughed at all the comedian’s jokes. The two have known each other since at least the ’90s, when C.K. worked on HBO’s The Chris Rock Show for three years. C.K. has admitted to harassing and masturbating in front of a woman who also worked on the show.
In November, five women told The New York Times about sexual misconduct allegations against C.K., which he confirmed.
During Wednesday’s unannounced set, C.K. made a joke about the allegations against him. “He joked about his mom, saying he was in the New York Times, and he had to be like, ‘Mom, that’s not a good article.’ But that moms don’t understand,” a source told Page Six. They also report his set had a lot of sexual jokes, “just in general, not about what happened.”
