The Maxim-backed Squadra Corsa Garage Italia Ferrari is set to race this weekend at Utah Motorsports Campus outside Salt Lake City with the 2019 GTS-X class championship already under its belt.
The duo of Mexican driver Martin Fuentes and American Caesar Bacarella share duties in GT Sprint X Amateur class, reports Maxim. They are undefeated this season, so fingers crossed for a season sweep at Utah. The Ferrari was created by Fiat heir Lapo Elkann and Ronnie Vogel.
“This season’s been a start of a new team, with a new car, and new drivers,” Vogel said to Maxim. “Caesar had only done some Nascar Xfiniti series races and Ferrari Challenge before, so this is a very different car than he was used to.”
The race in Utah is the last of the season for the GT Spring X Amateur category. But don’t worry, Fuentes is also leading the championship in the GT Spring Amateur category for solo drivers. You can spot him in another race at Watkins Glen.
