Excitement for Marvel’s Black Panther is reaching historic levels. Early tracking suggests that Black Panther will enjoy a $150 million opening weekend in North America, according to Variety. If tracking is accurate, Black Panther will be within reach of the Presidents Day opening weekend record. In 2016, Marvel’s winter smash Deadpool set the record with $152 million. Fandango also announced this week that Black Panther’s advanced ticket sales are the highest of any superhero movie in the site’s history. Directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Chadwick Boseman, Black Panther hits theaters February 16.
