The President Is Missing, the collaborative novel by Bill Clinton and regular best-seller James Patterson, sold 250,000 copies in its first week. According to a story in The Hollywood Reporter, The President Is Missing had the best-selling opening week for a fiction book since last November’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Getaway, and the best for an adult fiction book since Go Set a Watchman in 2015.
Clinton made headlines last week when he stumbled over questions about how he looks back on the Lewinsky scandal during an early book tour interview.
The book was co-published by Knopf and Little Brown and Co. Clinton and Patterson are currently on tour promoting the book.
