Stacey Dash is running for Congress. The Clueless star and former Fox commentator filed paperwork Monday to run in California’s 44th district, which is currently represented by Democrat Nanette Barragán. Dash, an outspoken Republican, has not issued a statement, but she did tease a potential run earlier this month with a tweet that read, “A number of people online and off have suggested I run for political office. I wanted to see what my online community thinks of this idea as I mull the possibilities. Thoughts?” She also attached a graphic of a red, white and blue campaign button that reads: “Dash to D.C.”

The district, which includes Compton, Watts, San Pedro and North Long Beach, has been represented by a Democrat for a long time. During the last election, it overwhelmingly voted for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, 83 percent-12 percent. The FEC filing includes a link to a website that appears to show a new logo for the campaign, reports CNN. In 2012, Dash endorsed Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Twitter. The endorsement got the attention of Fox News, who hired her in 2014 to offer “culture analysis and commentary.” Her contract was not renewed last year.
