The longtime NBC anchor will no longer have the "interim" tag in her title.

Hoda Kotb has permanently joined Savannah Guthrie as the leads of Today’s 7 and 8 a.m. coverage. Following the firing of Matt Lauer amid sexual harassment revelations in late November, Kotb stepped into the role of interim co-host. Joining Today’s lead team on an official basis is the nadir of Kotb’s now 20-year with NBC, in which she has occupied numerous positions at Today and Dateline. The pairing of Guthrie and Kotb departs from the man-and-woman convention of morning talk shows. With Kotb retaining her 10 a.m. coverage alongside Kathie Lee Gifford and Megyn Kelly anchoring the 9 a.m. hour, the Today roster has been set for the foreseeable future.
