That roof: the Brooklyn Museum, boasting both a brand new eatery and their “First Saturdays” program, in which the museum rocks well into the wee hours.
Your gameplan:
November 2nd Dinner reservation at Saul — newly relocated after a 14-year run in Boerum Hill, overlooking the museum’s Great Hall through floor-to-ceiling glass and dishing out New American cuisine. Prep with a glance at the menu.
4:00 Hit the museum for the new retrospective on surrealist designer Jean Paul Gaultier. She’ll be impressed with your interest in haute couture. You’ll be impressed with half-naked models. Win win.
5:00 Catch a live performance by Brooklyn electropop outfit Au Revoir Simone. Trust us, these pretty young ladies kill it.
6:00 Early dinner. You don’t have to order the crispy-skinned black bass and panna cotta with pomegranate sherbet, but you won’t be bummed if you do.
8:30 You’ve got a decision to make: the “Interactive Spaces” dance party on the museum’s third floor complete with costumed contortionists, or a screening of sci-fi cult classic The Fifth Element.
Either way, you win date night.
Nota bene: First Saturdays will feature new programming each month. Savvy daters will drop a bookmark here. Saul’s not going anywhere, though.
