Show us a man who can’t take advice from a woman, and we’ll show you a man more insecure than Facebook.

That’s the guiding principle of Stock Mfg. Co.’s latest initiative.

The Chicago label is about to launch Better Half, a line of menswear essentials co-created by three local bloggers who designed the pieces for their significant others.

Curious to hear the opinions of the fairer sex, we sat down with each of them to get the lowdown on what a man should wear, and perhaps more importantly, what he should not. Then we asked each lady to curate one perfect outfit to match the item they co-designed.

Thank them later.

Nothing bothers me more than a handsome guy in a sloppy T-shirt, so we wanted to design a polished tee that was as stylish as it is comfortable — that would work for everything from the office to the bar to dinner.”

“Something that really irks me is wrinkles. While I have lots of guy friends who make sure their clothing looks neat and tidy, this just isn’t something that’s on my husband’s radar. I swear he throws his clothing on the floor at the end of the day and stomps on it, and I’m SEEN him literally punch clothing into his suitcase. Mitch’s new trench coat, though, features wrinkle-resistant material, making it no-fuss for him and worry-free for me. It’s been a game-changer for his springtime looks!”

Just because it’s warmer doesn’t mean guys can’t wear layers, they just need to be lighter weight! Take a cue from stylish French men and try this blue chore coat that’s been a traditional workwear staple. It’s lightweight and has a ton of pockets for holding your stuff. Think of it as a more rugged blazer that’s perfect for brunch or a backyard bbq.”
