With tight quarters and extremely limited visibility, submarines aren’t quite the ultimate immersive experience you’d believe.
There’s an expensive fix for this: the new, bespoke Cruise Sub Series from the Dutch company U-Boat Worx, which offers almost 360 degree views and even a bit of, dare we say, luxury under the water.
These two-sphered subs are available in 5, 7, 9 or 11-seat configurations, and can dive from 1000 feet down to 5600 feet below the surface. They’ll travel in any direction (forward, reverse and even laterally) via what looks like two arcade joysticks, and people can board the subs without getting their feet wet.
We’re not kidding about the luxury part, either. Lounge seats, air conditioning, surround sound music, toilets, LED lighting and privacy screens are some of the available options, as well as a revolving interior that can “face the most ideal direction for unobstructed viewing.”
Ideal of high-end tourism, research boats and, let’s be honest, superyacht owners who want a new toy, U-Boat’s Subs are available now.
