Polaris Slingshot SL LE Is the Best Thing on Three Wheels

Dennis the Menace swore by three things: his trike, his slingshot and a mangy white mutt called Ruff. But had he been hellraising in 2016, we think he also would’ve abided a new ride from Polaris that combines two of the three into a vehicle that’d give Mr. Wilson fits.

The three-wheeled 2016 Slingshot SL LE from Polaris runs on a 2.4-liter engine that powers its 20-inch, cast-aluminum rear wheel via a five-speed manual transmission. The 173-HP trike rides five inches off the pavement and tips the scales at a robust 1,743 pounds.

Also, it’s open interior seats are 100% waterproof, so it’s always topless time.

Available in either blue fire ($26,999) or white pearl ($26,499), the limited-edition models are wired with 65-watt projector headlights, a 4.3″ touchscreen media console, six-speaker sound system and LEDs throughout.
