Is This the World’s Lightest, Most Aerodynamic Camper?

Leentu’s new pop-up is a carbon fiber wonder

The key to off-road adventures? Lighten up.

Leentu’s sleek new pop-up truck camper, available now for preorder, was supposedly inspired by “aerospace design.” That means these tiny homes on wheels should fit in most garages, set up/break down in mere seconds and still offer plenty of space … all while weighing less than 150 pounds. Actually, just 100 pounds, if you choose the pricier carbon fiber model.

The two styles of campers — built for 2005 and newer Toyota Tacoma Long Bed models — both feature a weatherproof, marine-grade tent with zippered windows, multiple USB charging ports, six feet of standing room, dimmable LED lighting, pre-wiring for solar, a stowaway loft bed with high-density foam mattress and a hinged full-height rear-door with integrated folding table.

Prices start at just over $10,000, and you can save up to 20% if you sign up for the preorder. While they’re Tacoma-exclusive for now (2005 and new models), the company plans to introduce models to outfit additional trucks — like the Chevy Colorado and Ford Ranger — if market demand calls for it.
