Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Runs on a Hellcat Engine

April showers don’t just bring May flowers, they also bring Jeeps. Very fast Jeeps.

Hot on the wheels of the reveal of seven new concept vehicles at the annual Easter Jeep Safari event, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles debuted the Hellcat-powered 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk at the New York City Auto Show. By all accounts, it went over very well.

Packing the same 707 horses of hypercharged cars like the Dodge Challenger, the all-wheel-drive Trackhawk tops out at 180 MPH, does 0 to 60 in just 3.5 seconds and does a quarter mile in 11.6 seconds.

Jeep calls the Trackhawk the “quickest SUV ever” and also says the model is the “most powerful” SUV it has ever built, which is why the vehicle was upgraded with an advanced braking system that can take new 4×4 from 60 MPH to a standstill just 114 feet.

With forged wheels wrapped in Pirelli tires, the four-door Trackhawk can tow 7,200 pounds, be set in “Sport,” “Track,” “Snow” or “Custom” mode and is expected to fetch north of $80,000.
