Black Ferrari F50 Nero Up for Auction by RM Sotheby’s

Of the 349 Ferrari F50s that the Prancing Horse produced, 302 of them were, predictably, red.

Thirty-one of them were yellow, eight were dark red, four were silver and four were black.

Out of those final four, only two were made with U.S. specifications and only one of those remains today (after the other was destroyed in 2013), making it the rarest of all unicorns: a jet black F50.

Now, due to a stroke of good luck, that one-of-a-kind critter is hitting the auction block.

Essentially a street-legal F1 racer, the ‘95 F50 has 2,090 miles on its odometer and boasts a naturally aspirated V-12 mated to a six-speed manual transmission that can do 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, tops out at around 200 MPH and can complete a mile in a hair over 30 seconds.

Extremely maneuverable thanks to a four-wheel independent suspension, the 520-HP beauty is finished with a black and red leather and Alcantara interior that’s as impressive as its paintjob.

The car is expected to fetch upwards of $3 million dollars when RM Sotheby’s puts it up for auction on January 20th in Arizona, so if you want to bid on it, don’t touch your holiday bonus just yet.
