You know how they say everything’s bigger in Texas?
Well that definitely includes this Land Cruiser FJ45. It seats 13.
Nicknamed “the Troopy” because it was originally designed to convey Colombian National Guard members around the countryside, the FJ45 was produced in Japan from 1976 to 1986 in small batches. This particular model rolled off the line in 1981, and was returned to its original glory by the restoration experts at The FJ Company after it was purchased for a family ranch in the Lone Star State.
Under the hood, the tricked-out Troopy has an upgraded 3F engine paired with an automatic transmission, and the folks at FJ also did work above the hood by adding exterior touches like flashy fender flares, a custom soft top roof, updated lighting and a classic beige paint job. In the cab: bucket seats, custom vinyl upholstery and a top-of-the-line sound system.
It all adds up to an FJ45 that’s ready to report to duty, at Texas ranches and beyond.
But should disagree, you can also design your own custom FJ.
