“It’s an all-out ‘70s time machine for your wrist.”

That was our review of the Timex Q 1979 reissue, which we praised during its (re)launch for its inspired-by-Rolex design, particularly its red and blue “Pepsi” bezel. It’s a looker, and END has the ticker now at just $99, down from $189.

This throwback timepiece features a quartz movement, stainless steel case (and stainless steel “woven” strap — which can be problematic for those with hairy wrists), rotating top ring and illuminated hands.

Around the time of the 2019 reissue, this Timex model would sell out instantly — finding it now at a near 50% discount feels like stealing. It won’t stop you from longing for a Rolex GMT-Master, but as we noted before, “It’s just a solidly handsome ticker that will receive regular compliments from people who are vaguely aware of the Pepsi bezel, though they may not be able to cite the name.”
