‘Game of Thrones’ Breaks Record at 2016 Emmy Awards

Dragons, damsels, knights, and gore paid off once again, as HBO’s Game of Thrones became the winningest fictional series in history, with 38 Emmy awards, surpassing the previous record-holder, Fraiser, which had 37. Also winning during last night’s telecast were The People v. O.J. Simpson, Veep, and Transparent. Notable first-time winners included Rami Malek for Mr. Robot (Actor in a Drama Series).
