Welcome to In a Better Place, in which we help you handsome up your home, office or apartment, one space at a time. This week: your guest room.

As great as holiday house guests are (no, really!), they come with their own set of needs.

So we curated a list of 12 things you need to stock the room they’ll be staying in.

A few objects and furnishings to keep your friends, family and Airbnb tenants out of your hair.

Because a little holiday cheer goes a long way.

Some no-brainers before we begin: have WiFi ready to go (we suggest eero). Know your password. Give ‘em their own bottle of Ibuprofen. And, if you can, get a smart lock so your guests can come and go as they please.

For guests with kids: CordaRoy’s Chenille
By day, it’s a bean bag chair. At night, it converts to a full-sized bed.

For a smart TV: Element 43” 4K Smart TV
You don’t want ‘em crowding around your set, right? This smart telly has Amazon’s Fire TV baked in, so they’ll have access to (their) Netflix.

For the bathroom: Onsen Bath Bundle
An extra-large set of soft waffle towels, hand towels and washcloths that dry quickly (so no complaints about mildew or musty smells).

For nosy guests: P.F. Candle Co. No. 11 Amber & Moss Reed Diffuser
Comforting, woody scents like a candle, without the worry that your guests will burn your house down.

For charging: OYOBox Wood Tech Tray
A handsome wooden catchall that’ll also charge and store up to six devices at once.

For toiletries: Baxter of California
All your guests’ hair, skin and body care needs, solved (in nice, big bottles, too). Have a lot of people coming through? Use the company’s Auto-Replenishment system to get the stuff you like restocked every month.

For lighting, everywhere: Carrie Portable LED Lamp
A cozy bedside lamp that guests can take with ‘em when trying to find the bathroom/kitchen at night.

For extra warmth: Sleepy Jones Slumberland Blanket
A comfy, colorful wool/cotton blend — and a great company if you want to offer PJs or robes.

For their holiday music: JBL Pulse 2
Keep the Sonos in your part of the house. Give your friends the use of this portable, splashproof speaker that creates its own multicolor light show. (Currently 60% off.)

For ironing emergencies: Maytag M800 Speed Heat Iron
Less than a minute to fully heat, with a 96-inch cord, auto shutoff and a removable water tank — nobody’s doing something stupid with this (and it’s under $50).

For waking up: Nespresso Inissia Espresso Machine
You want to keep your coffee machine simple for your guests. This one-touch operation will get them surprisingly good espresso (include the milk frother in their room at your own risk, however). Currently 37% off.

For their sheets: Brooklinen Luxe Core Sheet Set
It’s 480-thread count flat and fitted sheets, plus two pillowcases — straightforward but comfy.
