Apparently, the biggest question of the year was “Who drew the dicks?”
That’s the fascinating conclusion reached by Netflix in its just released report, The Year In Bingeing. Using viewing data gathered over the past 12 months (supplemented by surveys of over 60,000 Netflix members), the streaming service determined that the penis-graffitti-whodunit American Vandal was the most “devoured” show of 2017. Hooray?
Let’s explain: For their study, Netflix divided their shows into categories like “devoured” (watched more than two hours per day), “savored” (less than two), “cheated on” (watched ahead of significant others) and “brought us together” (best show to watch as a family).
Those winners included the aforementioned American Vandal, followed, in order, by The Crown, Narcos and Stranger Things.
Other fun facts:
- Netflix subscribers watched 140 million hours per day
- The most popular day to watch? January 1.
- Someone in Antarctica binge-watched Shameless
“Talk about Netflix and chill!” the press release notes on that last one — perhaps overlooking the increasingly direct, Big Brother-ish ways the service is commenting on our viewing habits.
