From the Editor’s Desk

My grandfather loved to grill.

He’d sit on the deck with a bourbon and water, rub his terrier’s ears, and man the Weber like he was a boat captain scanning the horizon, hand on the tiller.

Burnt all hell out of those burgers, though. Every damn time.

So this month, to help you navigate those charcoaled shoals, we’ll be publishing our first ever Summer Grilling Guide. Keep an eye out just before Memorial Day.

The grill guide is a great complement to our Spring Cocktail Quarterly and our first ever Fatherhood and Manliness survey.

More than 5,000 dads and dads-to-be have responded to the survey so far. In our question about the ideal movie dad, you’ll never guess who’s in the lead (it ain’t Atticus Finch). We’ll be revealing the results in June in a piece called Fatherhood and the American Man.

This past month, our Style Editor, Danny Agnew, helped launch another first for InsideHook: our spring capsule collection, which features some truly attractive button-downs and light, spring-ready trench coats. You can buy ’em right here.

Speaking of stuff to buy: our LA editor, Reuben Brody, did some impressive behind-the-scenes work at the offices of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce — he photographed the sunglasses of Mad Men, and let us know where those sunnies were sold.

Also of note: our Where to Take Her series, which focused on spas in New YorkLASF and Chicago. Gents, take heed: at this moment, most every woman in America is thinking about getting right for summer.

Take her to a spa — you won’t regret it.

Go Easy,

Steve Bryant
Executive Editor

Postscript: we want to hear from you. Got a story about grills? Questions for our style editor about how to roll your trousers? Just wanna say hi? Give us a shout at holler@insidehook.com.
