While California might be the nexus of skateboarding, you might be surprised to learn that there’s a burgeoning scene in China.
The man at the center of it? Wang Huifeng.
Now sponsored by Vans, the pro skater who hails from Shenzhen, takes Vice on a one-on-one journey through the skating scene—which isn’t all fun and games in a country that’s historically adverse to Western cultural imports. “Skateboarding in China is very restricted,” says Wang.
