‘Extreme Tornado Tours’ Are Exactly What They Sound Like

Go road-tripping with some pro storm chasers

Rabbit is good; Rabbit is wise … Rabbit could be you.

Created to allow you live out your Twister-inspired dreams, Extreme Tornado Tours was founded by Dr. Reed Timmer of the Discovery Channel’s Storm Chasers.

Using commercial vans packing loads of insurance covered by up to $1 million of medical coverage for guests, the six-person tours are guided by professional storm chasers who use on-board radar and navigation system to get as close to the stars of Tornado Alley as possible.

Leaving from either Oklahoma City or Denver, the seven- or 10-day tours include stays in hotels along the way, a meet-and-greet with Dr. Timmer and access to tons of professionally shot video and photography highlights of the trip (although taking your own is strongly recommended).

Tours run from April to June and start at $2,700 per person, although discounts are available based on group size or for returning guests. Also worth noting: active tours are available to live stream.
