Since Donald Trump famously proposed building a wall at our nation’s southern border and making Mexico pay for it, there have been many counter-proposals, some better than others.
The most recent one — which comes courtesy of Tecate — however, is the best of the lot.
In a spot that aired during the first presidential debate, Tecate proposed building a three-foot-tall “beer wall” that would give U.S. and Mexican citizens a spot to put their beverages while talking. “The time has come for a wall, a tremendous wall. The best wall,” the ad’s voiceover says. “The Tecate beer wall. A wall that brings us together.”
Despite the ad’s unifying message, which would seem to be anti-Trump, Tecate says it isn’t taking sides in the election. “We are totally neutral,” Tecate VP Felix Palau told Ad Age. “We don’t have any political point-of-view or affiliation. We just want to tell a story where people from two bordering countries are united by beer.”
