Before Florida Got Weird, It Was the Pinup Postcard Capital of the World

Welcome to the land of bikinis, beaches and butt-biting gators

When you hear the word “Yeager,” you probably think of Chuck breaking the sound barrier or the German digestif frat guys mix with Red Bull.

But from this day forward, that word will make you think of scantily clad pinup girls. You’re welcome.

A model-turned-shutterbug who was crowned Queen of Miami and also named “The World’s Prettiest Photographer” by U.S. Camera Magazine, Bunny Yeager took many of the photos that were used in a recently unearthed set of Florida postcards from the ‘50s and ‘60s.

Yeager and others shot the cards — which feature bikinis, Bettie Page and lecherous alligators — to drum up tourism for the spring breaks of yesteryear.

Greetings from the Sunshine State.
