Award-winning architecture is often reserved for innovative skyscrapers or futuristic hubs, but this year the Arcaid Images Architectural Photography Awards made history.
The winner of this year’s awards is a photo by Matt Emmet (above) depicts a historic location—a first for the contest.
Emmet’s image of the East London Water Works covered reservoir in Finsbury Park dazzled the panel of judges at the World Architecture Festival in Berlin, where the award was announced. Emmet won $3,000 and exhibitions in Berlin at Architektur Galerie and in London at Sto Werkstatt, which is open now and runs from until March 31.
