Three keys to a successful vacation: space, relaxation and … stalactites?
That might not be a sustainable credo for most hotels around the world, but at Beckham Creek Cave Lodge, an overnight built into an Ozarks bluff near Parthenon, Arkansas, it’s exactly what you’ll find.

At first name drop, the Cave Lodge sounds a bit like a Disney ride: some well-intentioned but ultimately ghoulish concept where you’ll find either dwarf-miner animatronics or hieroglyphics scrawled on styrofoam.
Not so here. Beckham is set within the Ozark Mountains, in a 260-acre resort mere minutes from the Buffalo National River. The cave is real, and so are its mindfully rustic furnishings: comfortable browns and beiges spaced across four spacious bedrooms, four spa-like bathrooms and a bevy of lofts and balconies. The hotel’s 6,000 square feet of space officially sleeps eight, but will gladly sleep 16 if your group chat really bites. And at $1,200 a night ($1,600 in busier months), you’re looking at a weekend of hiking, trout fishing and canoeing … with a couple stalactites to cozy up under when the day draws to a close.
